Today was supposed to be house cleaning and calculus. Presently not much of either have been done.
The project for the day turned out to be working on the Enochian ring. Earlier I had bought some gold sculpty (while in my futile search for black candle dye). Then all day I have been working on the specifics of the ring. I ended up rolling it out on a piece of lexan we have and just carving it out with a pin and an exacto knife. While I was carving it with a pin, I kept having that song about "How many angels dance on the head of a pin" by Christine Lavin play in my head.
I carved the ring, band and all, out of one piece. I do not like the design that has the square loosely afixed to the top. It just did not seem sturdy enough for this work. It is not as fancy as many of the commercially produced rings but it isn't all that bad either. Once upon a time I was an artist and maybe occasionally it shows.
The structural problem then came when I was putting it in the oven. I round ring will contort during head in all sorts of bad ways. So I found a clear glass Christmas ball that I have had in the craft room for years. The neck was the perfect size. So as long as I only need my size it looks like I am set.
I just put it in the oven to bake a few minutes ago, so I will keep you posted on the results.
Now off to actually do calculus.

I love Christine Lavin! I have often hummed "Channeling my inner bitch" in various store lines. I was quite sure she was spying on me when she wrote "Mysterious woman". Down to the part about being a Girl Scout :)
